Isadora's Children

Isadoras Kinder

Directed by Damien Manivel

Trailer

100 years ago, Isadora Duncan, pioneer of modern dance, choreographed a solo dance to deal with the traumatic accidental death of her children.

Synopsis

Duncan never recovered from the loss of her two sons and created a dance called "Mother" as an expression of a relationship that continued in grief and longing despite the physical absence of the children. Four very different dancers confront the artistic legacy of a personal tragedy. "It's nice that such different women are shown here and their respective experiences with the piece attempted to be captured on film. That you are not presented with the classic dancers' bodies, but that Duncan's universal motto is followed: That everyone can find his/her own gestures." (kino-zeit.de)
