Seelenlandschaften: Spirituelle Orte in Schottland

Scotland is a region full of secrets and beguiling beauty. Since filmmaker Rüdiger Sünner first traveled to Scotland in 1987, this country has cast a deep spell over him. Here he also encountered millennia-old traces of European spirituality that he had not known before: the sun temples of the megalithic period, "holy places" of a pagan nature religion, the belief in fairies, a nature-loving Celtic Christianity and landscapes in which one could experience "fulfilled solitude". Scotland became a kind of "motherland" for Sünner, which he traveled to many more times, always with the feeling of returning to a lost homeland.
