Le roman de Jim

One evening in the small town of Saint-Claude in France’s Jura mountains, Aymeric unexpectedly runs into Florence, a former colleague who is six months pregnant and alone. When her son Jim is born, Aymeric stays by her side and gradually takes on the role of father. Over the years, the small family builds a quiet life together. Aymeric grows deeply attached to Jim and raises him as his own. Their fragile balance is suddenly disrupted when Christophe, Jim’s biological father, reappears. His return forces Aymeric to confront painful questions about love, responsibility and what it truly means to be a parent. With warmth and emotional precision, the Larrieu brothers tell a moving story about chosen families and the long journey of fatherhood. JIM’S STORY (Le Roman de Jim) premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Première section of the Official Selection. For his performance in the film, Karim Leklou won the César Award for Best Actor (2025).
