A Loving Act

Budapest, spring 2020: Two people are confined to an apartment as the outside world comes to a standstill. Riccardo, a reporter, and Kata, a porn actress, spend the days of quarantine caught between uncertainty, closeness, and the question of how intimacy can survive under exceptional circumstances. What begins almost like a game soon turns into a shared project: they start filming their relationship – their conversations, their bodies, their routines. The camera becomes a constant presence, witnessing a love that unfolds in a provocative, sensual, and uncompromising way, while also blurring the line between reality and performance. Over time, something shifts. A moment, a rupture, something left unspoken. The passion that once connected Riccardo and Kata begins to fade – not only within the frame, but outside of it as well. Within the confines of four walls, it becomes clear that closeness does not necessarily mean comfort, and that what is lost cannot always be named or healed. A LOVING ACT portrays the end of a relationship as an unflinching chamber piece, filmed without shame, without censorship, and without safe distance.
