Trailer

Join filmmaker Tim Lienhard on a bold journey of self-discovery through drag, desire, and liberation in this daring autofictional documentary.

Synopsis

In this daring autofictional documentary, filmmaker Tim Lienhard, raised in a Catholic family in southern Germany, traces his late-in-life transformation into a provocatively performative drag persona. Now 64, he reflects on identity, sexuality, aging, and self-esteem with shameless openness and humor. His journey takes him from Berlin to the Torremolinos Porn Festival and Pride Week in Gran Canaria, where he meets OnlyFans creators, partygoers, and peers who share their stories of desire and liberation. What unfolds is not only a personal exploration, but also a confrontation with internalized norms and social expectations shaped by religion, shame and repression. Lienhard’s performative alter ego becomes a tool to renegotiate these experiences — exaggerating, exposing and reclaiming them through humor and excess. Blending confession and celebration, the film moves fluidly between documentary observation and staged performance. Lienhard’s grotesquely sexualized drag persona functions both as a protective mask and a radical form of self-expression, allowing him to challenge conventional ideas of masculinity, aging and respectability. At once intimate and provocative, the film creates a space in which vulnerability and exhibitionism coexist. It becomes a reflection on the possibility of reinvention later in life.
