Unsere Zeit wird kommen

After years marked by displacement and uncertainty, Siaka returns to Austria with his wife Victoria, hoping to finally build a stable life together. What begins as a new chapter soon reveals itself to be shaped by obstacles, as questions of residence, work and belonging define their everyday reality. Over the course of a year, director Ivette Löcker closely observes the couple as they navigate bureaucratic structures, financial pressure and the emotional strain of starting over. Their relationship is increasingly tested as expectations, cultural differences and external constraints collide. Without commentary, the film unfolds as an intimate observational portrait. Moments of tenderness and hope stand alongside frustration and doubt, revealing how fragile the idea of “arrival” can be. OUR TIME WILL COME (Unsere Zeit wird kommen) premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) 2025 in the Forum section.
