Parasite

When Ki-woo, an unemployed university aspirant from a poor family living in a cramped Seoul basement apartment, is offered a tutoring job at the wealthy Park family's modernist home, he sees an opportunity to escape poverty. He convinces his resourceful sister Ki-jung to pose as an art therapist for the Parks' son, and soon the entire Kim family orchestrates an elaborate scheme to infiltrate the household as servants under assumed identities. What begins as a carefully calculated con to secure employment and income evolves into something far more complex as the families' lives become dangerously intertwined. Director Bong Joon-ho masterfully weaves social satire with mounting tension, exploring themes of class division, greed, and the fragile boundaries between deception and survival. As the carefully constructed facade begins to crack, the film spirals into unexpected territory, revealing the darker consequences of desperation and ambition.
