Simona Feldman

She subsequently studied Film Studies, Jewish Studies, and German Literature for two years before entering the film industry through various internships in journalism, including print, radio, and television. Feldman gained practical experience in film production in a range of roles, including as set production assistant, first and second assistant director, and in script/continuity. From 2003 until April 2011, she also served as deputy programme director of the High End 54 cinema at the Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin. Since 2008, she studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. Her film work includes several short and documentary films. Her early works include “Shabat” from 2009, “Babuschka” from 2011, and “Domoj” from 2012. In 2013, she created the segment “Guangzhou” for the project “Culture: City”, which was shown as part of an exhibition at the Academy of Arts. In 2014, she completed the documentary film “If I was a tree”, for which she directed, wrote the script, produced, and was also involved in cinematography and editing. The film explores questions of origin, family memory, and Jewish identity.
