Synopsis
What is it like to be born into the provincial West German working class in the mid-1960s? What is it like to want to leave this predetermined, traditional path and, with the help of literature, theater and art, to leave one's origins behind in order to " rise" to a different class?
In his experimental documentary essay on class affiliation and class struggles, Swobodnik, portrayed by actress Margarita Breitkreiz, returns to his roots in the Swabian Alb and comes to terms with his feeling of permanent foreignness in a social structure characterized by security and predetermination.
