DirectorAmjad Abu Alala is a director and producer born in the United Arab Emirates and raised in Sudan. After studying media, he initially directed several short films. His internationally acclaimed feature debut, "You Will Die at Twenty" (2019), premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. There, the work was awarded the Lion of the Future for Best Debut Film and was also Sudan's first-ever submission for an Oscar. In addition to his own directorial work, Alala is also active as a producer for other filmmakers.
