The French photographer and photojournalist Francis Apestéguy (1952–2022) first made a name for himself through his work for renowned agencies such as Gamma and Sipa Press. His photographic work encompassed both reporting from conflict zones and celebrity photography, which brought him widespread recognition. In addition to his extensive activity as a photographer, he also directed a film. This includes the 1990 short film 'Jour de Colère' (Day of Wrath), for which he was credited as director and writer.
