Harmony Korine is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor known for his unconventional and controversial style. He first gained prominence by writing the screenplay for the 1995 film *Kids*, directed by Larry Clark. Korine made his directorial debut with *Gummo* in 1997, a film that explores the lives of people in Xenia, Ohio, after a tornado. This was followed by *Julien Donkey-Boy* (1999), which was inspired by Korine's schizophrenic uncle and was created under the Dogme 95 movement. In 2007, he directed *Mister Lonely*, a film about a Michael Jackson impersonator who discovers a commune for impersonators. Korine achieved significant attention with *Spring Breakers* in 2012, a film that blends crime, drama, and surrealism, starring James Franco, Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens.
