Urs Remond was born on October 12, 1964, in Germany and is a Swiss actor who spent his childhood and youth in Cameroon. After attending high school in Switzerland, he developed into a versatile character actor in German-language film and television. Among his best-known works is the 2020 television film Die Getriebenen, in which he played the role of government spokesman Steffen Seibert. This film was awarded the Producer's Prize by the German Academy of Television. In the 2020 horror film RAPUNZELS FLUCH, directed by David Brückner, he played Father Petrosinus, a priest who unsuccessfully attempts to exorcise the demon-possessed Rapunzel in the 17th century. Other notable productions include Otto - Der neue Film, where he worked with comedian Otto Waalkes, as well as various episodes of Tatort, such as Tatort: Happy Birthday, Sarah! Remond has appeared on television in popular series such as Berlin, Berlin, Hinter Gittern – Der Frauenknast, and Die Schwarzwaldklinik. He also played an important role in the 1998 hospital series Medicopter 117 – Jedes Leben zählt. Internationally, he worked in the Italian TV series Fiori sopra l'inferno from 2023, where he appeared as Elena Sofia Ricci's antagonist. His filmography shows a remarkable range from comedies to crime thrillers to international co-productions. With his authentic acting style, Urs Remond has established himself as a reliable character actor in German-language film and television.
