ActorValerie Niehaus (born October 11, 1974 in Emsdetten) is a German actress who became famous for her role as Julia von Anstetten in the soap opera Verbotene Liebe. She won the bronze Bravo Otto award for female TV star in 1995 and 1996. After studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, she returned to Germany and starred in the 2000 horror thriller Flashback – Mörderische Ferien (directed by Michael Karen). In the short film KAUGUMMIBLASE (2018, directed by Anja Gurres), she plays a leading role as Diane Bergmann-Fuchs. She also played the character Leonie/Lena Assmann in the three-part series Daheim in den Bergen – Schwesternliebe (2019, directed by Michael Zens). Her other well-known works include the television film Die Spionin (2013, directed by Miguel Alexandre), in which she played Vera von Schalburg, and the crime series Die Spezialisten – Im Namen der Opfer (2016–2019, ZDF), in which she plays forensic scientist Dr. Katrin Stoll. She has been nominated for the New Faces Award, among others, for her performances.
