Xavier Giannoli
Director
The French director and screenwriter Xavier Giannoli, born in 1972, garnered attention early in his career. His short film *L'Interview* (1998) was honored with the Short Film Palme d'Or at Cannes as well as a César Award. Many of his later feature films were selected for the competitions of international festivals, such as *When I Was a Singer* (2006) for Cannes and *Marguerite* (2015) for Venice. The literary adaptation *Lost Illusions* (2021) marked a particular success, winning seven awards at the Césars, including the prize for Best Film. His more recent work includes the series *De Grâce* (2023).
