In a strange, dystopian world, the mysterious leader Jessica gathers a troop of robbing and murdering orphans around her. Hunted by an authoritarian society that sees them as a threat, they seek refuge in empty houses and try to find a place where they will not be rejected. But behind the brutal facade is a tight-knit family for outcasts who experience love for the first time. Jessica becomes a protector and mother figure for the boys, enabling them to envision a future beyond violence and hatred. But the dream of safety is threatened when the past catches up with them and their fragile equilibrium is shaken. JESSICA FOREVER celebrated its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and was shown in the Panorama section at the Berlin International Film Festival. With their feature film debut, directing duo Jonathan Vinel and Caroline Poggi create an unusual blend of dystopian science fiction, poetic drama and radical social criticism.
