Cure - The Life of Another

After playing a sexually charged game with her best friend, below the cliffs of Dubrovnik, a teenage girl doesn't return home. Dubrovnik, 1993, after the end of the Balkan War: Linda returns to Croatia with her father. Her new best friend Eta takes her to a forest above the city. Linda and Eta, two 14-year-old girls and best friends, retreat to a beach below the cliffs of Dubrovnik; the next morning, only one of them returns. They become obsessed with a sexually charged game of identity swapping. It ends in a fatal fall. Linda returns to the city alone and soon takes Eta's place in her family. Eta's admirer Ivo also becomes part of their game. In a world shaped by women and their experiences of loss during the war, full of entanglements and pain, Linda finally threatens to lose her footing. CURE – THE LIFE OF ANOTHER premiered in 2014 in the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival and subsequently screened at international festivals such as the Sarajevo Film Festival. At the Max Ophüls Film Festival, the film was awarded the prize for socially relevant film.
