Paul Aivanaa Manaté makes film history as the first Franco-Polynesian director ever and was able to enlist Sebastian Urzendowsky for the role.
Synopsis
Teivi (Sebastian Urzendowsky), a young assistant to parliamentarian Gilot (Patrick Descamps) enjoys the - sometimes immoral - benefits of his job. But an encounter with Yasmina (Blanche-Neige Huri), his distant Maori cousin who is said to have magical powers, changes something in him.
Plagued by hallucinatory malaise and embroiled in a case of real estate corruption, Teivi loses his footing and seeks his cousin's help.
"Paradise successfully combines social realism and dreamlike mysticism." (cineuropa)
