ELDA AND THE MONSTERS follows Elda, the gender-fluid front figure of the glam-rock band Monstros, whose performances blur the boundaries between stage persona and everyday life. Surrounded by music, friendship and performance, Elda sets out on a journey that becomes both an exploration of queer identity and a search for belonging. Together, the band travels through forests, lakes and abandoned places, carrying with them the memory of a victim of transfemicide. Along the way, conversations about love, grief, faith and selfhood unfold naturally, while the relationships between the characters remain open to shifting forms of intimacy, companionship and desire. Blending road movie, musical and dreamlike fantasy, the film refuses fixed categories and embraces ambiguity instead. Songs, dance, performance and moments of quiet observation merge into a fluid cinematic language that mirrors Elda's rejection of binary identities. Rather than offering clear explanations, the film creates space for emotional experience and multiple ways of being.
