Born in Algiers in 1989, filmmaker and architect Saadia Gacem explores the interactions between individuals and urban space in her artistic practice. Her 2024 debut film, “Métis,” garnered international attention and was screened at renowned festivals. The premiere took place in the Forum Expanded section of the Berlinale. The work was also selected for the L'ACID program in Cannes and the First Film Competition at FIDMarseille, among others. Saadia Gacem lives and works in Algiers.
