I Can Quit Whenever I Want: Masterclass

Smetto quando voglio: Masterclass

Directed by Sydney Sibilia

Trailer

Former scientists become agents: to clear their names, they hunt down new types of drugs on behalf of the police.

Synopsis

After neurobiologist Pietro Zinni and his lab colleagues responded to their sudden dismissal in the first part of the film series by setting up a drug ring, they now decide to switch sides. They join forces with ambitious police inspector Paolo Coletti, who sends them on a secret mission. Their task: to prevent the rapid spread of new types of drugs. In return, each of the scientists will be rewarded with a clean criminal record. I CAN QUIT WHENEVER I WANT: MASTERCLASS continues the story of the first part with even greater energy. Director Sydney Sibilia stages the second film of his trilogy as a fast-paced mixture of action comedy and social satire. With precise timing, biting humor, and cinematic lightness, he paints a portrait of a generation that, despite its intelligence and idealism, fails in the face of the contradictions of its time. Edoardo Leo, Stefano Fresi, Valeria Solarino, and Paolo Calabresi are back, and their ensemble performance surpasses the wit and dynamism of the original. The film was acclaimed by audiences and critics in Italy and was a box office success, cementing Sibilia's reputation as one of the country's most talented young directors. Shot on location in Rome and at La Sapienza University, the film combines fast-paced entertainment with social commentary—proving that science can be explosive even outside the laboratory.
