Diane

Diane lives alone in western Massachusetts, taking care of others and always putting herself last. Loneliness opens up new levels of perception and existence for her, where past and present collide and people come and go. As Diane realizes how her life is slipping away, she must come to terms with the idea of forgiveness. Director Kent Jones, known as a film critic and former director of the New York Film Festival, makes his feature film debut with this work. He was inspired by his own family and wrote the role of Diane specifically for Mary Kay Place, who won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award and the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance. DIANE celebrated its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it won three awards, including the Founders Award for Best US Feature Film. The film is characterized by its quiet narrative style and focus on everyday moments, creating a haunting portrait of a woman who must come to terms with her past and her decisions.
