Blessed Boys

In the bustling alleys of the Neapolitan neighborhood of Sanità, two inseparable friends live out their daily lives in familiar monotony. Their close bond is put to the test when the younger sister of one of the two is suddenly revered as a miracle worker and becomes the patron saint of the neighborhood. This unexpected event not only disrupts the social fabric of the community, but also forces the friends to question their own feelings and the nature of their relationship. The film BLESSED BOYS by Italian director Silvia Brunelli tells the story of friendship, growing up and the search for identity in an environment that fluctuates between tradition and modernity. The leading roles are played by Francesco Pellegrino and Vincenzo Antonucci, who authentically express the complexity of their characters. BLESSED BOYS celebrated its premiere in 2021 as part of the Biennale College Cinema at the 78th Venice International Film Festival. It was then presented at the Tribeca Film Festival 2022 in the “Feature Narratives” category. BLESSED BOYS was named best Italian feature film at the Rome Independent Film Festival 2021.
