Synopsis
Director Moussaoui interweaves three stories into a multi-faceted portrait of Algeria between slums and luxury apartments, tradition and modernity.
Three stories, three sides of Algeria between slums and upper-class apartments, tradition and modernity. A man witnesses a fight and flees while the victim remains motionless on the street. A woman is to be married to an unknown man, but she loves another. A surgeon is accused of being a rapist, but denies it. In an impressive and emotional way, director Arim Moussaoui interweaves the three stories in "Until the Birds Return" into the image of a multi-layered country that is searching for stability, for departure, for itself.
